Natasha Studio Jam Vol.4

Come Sunday 30th August 2009, DanceOnUs Studios will play host to Natasha Studio Jam vol.4! Back for the 4th time and growing bigger, we'll be having 3 different genres of competition; Bboying, Locking and for the first time, Hip-Hop! Purpose of this jam is to allow students to interact with each other, explore and express their technical skills through gatherings and cyphers. Line-up of Jam Session vol. 4 includes the following: - Impromptu Cyphers (bboying, locking, popping and hip-hop) - 1vs1 Bboy Battle (4 vacancies to public) - 1vs1 Locking Battle (4 vacancies to public) - 1vs1 Hip-Hop Battle (4 vacancies to public) - Guest Beatbox Performance - Guest Performance by Judges Here are the details of the Jam: NATASHA STUDIO JAM DETAILS: Venue: Natasha Studio (DanceOnUs Studios) Date: Sunday, 30th August 2009 Time: 4pm til 7pm Admission: SG$5.00 due to over-whelming response of audience, and over-heated from insufficient ventilation, an admission charge is necessary for crowd-control. Note: There are no admission tickets being sold prior to this jam. Please do not purchase any tickets sold by anyone. Admission will only be done at the door. Due to over-whelming response, our doors for Natasha Studio jams will be open to everyone inclusive of non-Natasha Studio students. Participation in competitions will still maintain as Natasha Studio students, with respective vacancies open to public. We have opened 04 limited vacancies per category (within the current maximum of 16 sign-ups) for students of Natasha Studio who have misplaced their receipts. Other than battling in a very hot-and-small room, cd player remote control ran out of battery, and another episode of lame emcee hosting, students got to enjoy the joys of competition from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, with cyphers running from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. RULES & REGULATION A. Admission and competition participation is exclusive ONLY to Natasha Studio members, students and invitational guests. Respective vacancies are open to public, to allow an approx 30% public competition to mingle with the students. B. 1vs1 Bboy / 1vs1 Locking / 1vs1 Hip-Hop Battle will be open to maximum of 16 teams / participants each genre. First 16 teams / participants to EMAIL will participate. C. In the event of less than 16 participants, a points-system battle will be used to determine the top 8 to battle. Henceforth, battles will be of a knock-out system. D. Each bboy / locker / hip-hop dancer will have 2 runs per battle, thus each battle will have a total of 4 runs. Battle will be based upon Round-for-Round judging criteria, according to the Guest Judges decision. (Exception for Qualifying rounds, whereby each bboy / locker / hip-hop dancer will have only 1 run (1 turn) per battle.) E. Strictly no touching from either side during battles. F. Protective gears are advisable, and it is advised to use what you have practised. Rule of thumb, SAFETY FIRST. G. Judges decision are final. H. Enjoy yourself :) GUEST PERFORMERS Style Groovaz Crew Republic Polytechnic’s Hip Hop IG is made up of Republicans who share a common passion for Hip Hop Dance. Be it B-boying (also known as Break-Dancing) or hip hop dance moves, the IG has wowed the school with a wide range of dance moves since 2004. What sets the IG apart from the other dance crews is its primary focus on B-boying. The IG hopes to offer opportunities for passionate individuals who put in their best shot for what they believe in.
