New Courses Starting in June 2009

Natasha Studio will be introducing two new course genres into its course schedule from June 2009 onwards; Uprocking and Girls Hip-Hop. UPROCKING WITH BBOY MAHMUD (Beginner Level) Starting on June 5th, 2009 Every Friday, 8.00pm-9.00pm (8 weeks course) 8 x 1.0hr sessions Fees: $120.00 per sign-up (Intermediate and Advance Level courses will commence after its 1st batch of Beginner level course completes) About Uprocking Also Known as "Rocking", Uprocking is an urban dance that is both soulful and competitive. The dance is performed by synchronization to the beats and rhythms of music. Was founded in Bushwick area of Brooklyn in 1968 by two men, "Rubberband Man" and "Apache". It involves two opposing dancers or teams alternatively or simultaneously a choreographed "Battle" throughout the duration of a complete song. Upmost rule in Uprocking, No physical contact. Competitors will face off in a line formation called "The Apache Line". This line also in contrast to the circle formation in Bboying. The Apache line allows multiple opposing dancers or crews to face each other and battle. Course Levels There will be 3 Levels of Uprocking Courses in Natasha Studio: - Beginner Level, - Intermediate Level, - Advance Level. Intermediate and Advance Level courses will commence after its 1st batch of Beginner level course completes.
